Gene Information

human ... PBXIP1(57326)

pre-B-cell leukemia transcription factor interacting protein 1 recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Biochem/physiol Actions

PBXIP1 (Pre-B-cell leukemia homeobox interacting protein 1) is a microtubule-binding protein belonging to the PBX-family. It is localized in the cytosol and lesser extent in the nucleus. It plays a vital role in the migration and proliferation of cancer cells. It regulates the functioning of PBX by inhibiting transactivational activity of E2A-PBX. It couples with the microtubule complex to regulate 17β-estradiol-ERα responses. It has been reported that PBXIP1 may play a role in the hematopoiesis and leukemic transformation.

Features and Benefits

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Corresponding Antigen APREST70959.

PBX1 is a homeodomain protein that functions in complexes with other homeodomain-containing proteins to regulate gene expression during developmental and/or differentiation processes. A yeast two-hybrid screen of a fetal liver-hematopoietic cDNA library using PBX1a as bait led to the discovery...
