General description

FLUOTRAC 200 96W Microplate, well working volume 25-340 μL; total well volume 392 μL.
Polystyrene Multiwell plates from Greiner for immunoassay and high throughput screening applications. High binding plates are recommended for ELISAs. High binding denotes a binding capacity of 600 ng/cm2 and scatter of less than 10%. Optimal protein binding is variable and comparative tests between high and medium binding plates is suggested.

Other Notes

96 well flat (F) μClear® bottom; medium binding microplate, chimney style, no lid, alphanumeric well coding, length: 127.76 mm; width: 85.48 mm; curvature approx. 200 um.

Suitability

Black plates minimize background fluorescence. FLUOTRAC 200 binds up to 200 ng/cm2. Clear bottoms allow for monitoring thru the plate bottom. Free of detectable DNase/RNase, human DNA and pyrogens.

Questions

  1. Can this product be used for a luciferase assay?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, i is advised to use a white plate with a clear bottom for a luciferase assay. The primary difference between white and black plates lies in their reflective properties. White plates reflect light, maximizing light output signal, which is suitable for luminescent assays. On the other hand, black plates absorb light, reducing background and crosstalk, making them ideal for fluorescent assays. In multiplexed assays, using a white plate will maximize light output signal for the luminescent portion but may lead to higher crosstalk and background for the fluorescent part. Conversely, using a black plate will reduce fluorescent signal crosstalk and background, but will also reduce the luminescence signal by about 1 order of magnitude.
