General description

Chromogenic substrate for the determination of acid and alkaline phosphatases. The reaction produces a soluble end product that is yellow in color. The reaction may be stopped with 3 N NaOH and read at 405 nm.

4-Nitrophenyl phosphate disodium salt hexahydrate has been used:
  • as a substrate for alkaline phosphatase coupled anti-rabbit antibody in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • as a substrate for the mouse secondary antibody linked to alkaline phosphatase in immunoenzymometric assay
  • in ELISA to analyze the presence of antibodies to Pseudomonas aeruginosa in animal serum sample

Contains 20 mg substrate per tablet

The phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) signaling cascade downstream of the B cell receptor (BCR) signalosome is essential for B cell maturation. Proper signaling strength is maintained through the PI3K negative regulator phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN). Although a role for microRNA...

IgA1 complexes containing deglycosylated IgA1, IgG autoantibodies, and a soluble form of the IgA receptor (sCD89), are hallmarks of IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Food antigens, notably gluten, are associated with increased mucosal response and IgAN onset, but their implication in the...

Colorimetric Alkaline Phosphatase and Peroxidase Substrate Detection Systems

Nitroblue Tetrazolium (NBT) is used with the alkaline phosphatase substrate 5-Bromo- 4-Chloro-3-Indolyl Phosphate (BCIP) in western blotting and immunohistological staining procedures. These substrate systems produce an insoluble NBT diformazan end product that is blue to purple in color and can be observed visually.
