Application

The pH values of all buffers are temperature and concentration dependent. For Tris buffers, pH increases about 0.03 unit per °C decrease in temperature, and decreases 0.03-0.05 unit per ten-fold dilution.
For precise applications, use a carefully calibrated pH meter with a glass/calomel combination electrode.
Tris HCl is a commonly used biological buffer. Tris/Tris HCl as a buffering system has a very broad usage in biological systems for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, cell culture, diagnostics and molecular biology. The pKa of Tris is 7.77 which corresponds closely to a physiological pH of 7.36.

Tris HCl is used as the conjugate buffer component with Tris/Tromethamine/Trizma in biopharmaceutical buffer formulations (both upstream and downstream applications), electrophoresis separations and diagnostic reagent formulations.

The content of biogenic compounds and the biological activities of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)-grain extracts was evaluated. The sufficiently large and heterogeneous set of barley genotypes (100 accessions) enabled the selection of special genotypes interesting for potential industrial, pharmaceutical, and...

SQSTM1/p62 (sequestosome 1) is a critical macroautophagy/autophagy receptor that promotes the formation and degradation of ubiquitinated aggregates. SQSTM1 can be modified by ubiquitination, and this modification modulates its autophagic activity. However, the molecular mechanisms underpinning its reversible deubiquitination have never...

Our present work aimed at developing a pseudo triple-enzyme cascade electrocatalytic electrochemical aptasensor for determination of thrombin with the amplification of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH)-Pt-Pd nanowires bionanocomposite and hemin/G-quadruplex structure that simultaneously acted as NADH oxidase and HRP-mimicking DNAzyme. With the...

NAP (NAPVSIPQ, davunetide) is a microtubule stabilizing peptide drug candidate. Here, we set out to identify NAP-like peptides that provide neuroprotection and reduce tau pathology. NAP-like peptides were derived using publically available search engines, which identified sequence homologies in the...
