General description

Reagent Alcohol is denatured ethanol. It is widely used in histology and cytology for tissue processing.[1]

Application

Reagent Alcohol has been used for dehydrating tissue samples before embedding in histology.

Other Notes

95 parts of specially denatured ethyl alcohol 3A with 5 parts of isopropyl alcohol. Final concentrations are ~ 85% ethanol, ~ 5% methanol and ~ 5% isopropanol. Contains 5% water.
