Questions

  1. Does this kit detect only the free form of IGF-1, or does it also detect IGF-1 bound to binding proteins?

    1 answer
    1. The standard utilized in this kit is recombinant human IGF-1, derived from E. coli and corresponds to amino acids 49-118 of the human IGF-I protein (P05019).
Specificity: This antibody pair is designed to detect only the free form of human IGF-1 and does not recognize IGF-1 when it is complexed with IGF binding proteins (IGFBPs). Furthermore, the IGF-1 ELISA kit has been tested and shows no cross-reactivity with a variety of other cytokines, including Human Angiogenin, BDNF, BLC, ENA-78, FGF-4, IGFBP-1 through IGFBP-4, IL-1 alpha through IL-15, I-309, IP-10, G-CSF, GM-CSF, IFN-gamma, Leptin (OB), MCP-1, MCP-3, MDC, MIP-1 alpha, MIP-1 beta, MIP-1 delta, PARC, RANTES, SCF, TARC, TGF-beta, TIMP-1, TIMP-2, TNF-alpha, TNF-beta, TPO, and VEGF.
