Application

HEPES Sodium is a biological buffer often referred to as a “Good′s” buffer. HEPES Sodium, used in conjunction with HEPES, is the most commonly used biological buffer formulation since the pKa of the buffer is 7.31 which corresponds to the physiological pH of 7.36. HEPES Sodium is considered to be non-toxic to culture cell lines, highly water soluble and provides high-solution clarity.

HEPES Sodium is used in cell culture media, biopharmaceutical buffer formulations (both upstream and downstream) and diagnostic reagent formulations.

When lysozyme is dissolved in a neutral HEPES buffer solution (pH = 7.4) with 0.001-0.050 M TCEP added, a fast phase transition process occurs and the resulting novel fiber-like hierarchical supramolecular assemblies made by primary spherical-particle aggregation can function as a "superglue"...

A ratiometric fluorescence sensor based on pyrene was designed for selective detection of heparin in HEPES (N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine-N'-ethanesulfonic acid) buffer and serum sample. Pyrene and long-chain alkanes were linked through bisquaternary functionality in the sensor which could interact with heparin via...

The mechanisms of action of endogenous modulatory ligands of connexin channels are largely unknown. Previous work showed that protonated aminosulfonates (AS), notably taurine, directly and reversibly inhibit homomeric and heteromeric channels that contain Cx26, a widely distributed connexin, but not...
