Description

General description

Saccharin is an artificial sweetener, which is used in canned fruit juices, vegetables, cookies and jellies. It is associated with bladder cancer.[1]

Application

Saccharin sodium salt hydrate has been used to eliminate the potentially confounding effect of caloric content.[2] It has also been used to study its effects on the cyclamate-responsive taste 2 receptor member 1 (TAS2R1) receptor.[3]
