General description

SIGMAFAST Protease Inhibitor Tablets are a water-soluble tablet formulation designed to inhibit serine, cysteine, aspartic, and metalloproteases. The tablets contain a broad-spectrum cocktail of protease inhibitors, including AEBSF, E-64, bestatin, leupeptin, aprotinin, and EDTA. One tablet can make 100 mL of cocktail, and can inhibit proteases present in up to 20 g of cell extract.

Specificity

Inhibits serine, cysteine, aspartic, and metalloproteases.

Application

These tablets have been optimized and tested for general use. They have been used in various applications, including collecting tracheae in combination with ice-cold radioimmunoprecipitation assay buffer to determine the tracheal basal cell fate, and homogenizing rat lung tissues for western blot analysis.

Features and Benefits

Broad-spectrum protease inhibition: Inhibits serine, cysteine, aspartic, and metalloproteases, making it a versatile solution for protease inhibition in various applications.

Water-soluble tablet formulation: Easy to use and prepare, with one tablet making 100 mL of cocktail.

Contains a cocktail of protease inhibitors: Provides a comprehensive and effective solution for protease inhibition.

Tested and optimized for general use: Proven performance and reliability for a wide range of applications.

Components

AEBSF, 2 mM
Aprotinin, 0.3 μM
Bestatin, 130 μM
EDTA, 1 mM
E-64, 14 μM
Leupeptin, 1 μM

Other Notes

Tableted formulation containing water-soluble protease inhibitors with broad specificity for the inhibition of serine, cysteine, and metalloproteases. Contains 4-(2-aminoethyl)benzenesulfonyl fluoride (AEBSF), E-64, bestatin, leupeptin, aprotinin, and EDTA (sodium salt).

Quantity

One tablet makes 100 mL of cocktail. One mL is recommended for the inhibition of proteases equivalent to 1 mg of USP pancreatin. One tablet is recommended for the inhibition of proteases present in a maximum of 20 g of cell extract.

Physical form

Tablet that is water soluble.
