Biochem/physiol Actions

Monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) catalyzes the degradation of biogenic amines such as dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin. Over activation of MAOA is associated with the human heart failure (HF) pathogenesis. Thus, the protein is considered to be a potential target for the treatment of HF.{32 }Mutation in the gene leads to panic disorder (PD).

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4
