Gene Information

human ... ARPC4(10093)

General description

The gene ARPC4 (actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 4) is mapped to human chromosome 3p25. It is a component of the actin related protein 2/3 (Arp2/3) complex.

Peptide with sequence C-ERHNKPEVEVR from the internal region of the protein sequence according to NP_005709.1.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The actin related protein 2/3 (Arp2/3) protein complex serves as an actin nucleator and it helps in actin filament branching. The complex is associated with phagocytosis, vesicular trafficking, lamellipodia extension and cytokinesis. ARPC4 is required to connect the complex with actin filament.
