Application

6-Thio-2′-Deoxyguanosine has been used in secreted luciferase enzyme activity in tonsillar cancer cells.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

6-Thio-2′-deoxyguanosine (6-thio-dG) is a nucleoside analog and telomerase substrate that is incorporated into de novo–synthesized telomeres.
6-Thio-2′-deoxyguanosine (6-thio-dG) is a nucleoside analog and telomerase substrate that is incorporated into de novo–synthesized telomeres. 6-Thio-2′-deoxyguanosine induces telomere dysfunction and rapid cell death in cancer cells, while spearing telomerase-negative cells.

Adenosine plays an important role in cell death and differentiation as well as in tumorigenesis and the intra- and extra-cellular levels range from nanomolar to millimolar levels under various physiological or pathophysiological conditions. Here we report that adenosine can activate

Questions

  1. I would like to learn solubility of this product , Can we dissolve it in the ethanol or chloroform, what is the solubility in the water or buffers

    1 answer
    1. This product is tested for solubility in DMSO. The rate varies from lot to lot, however the minimum concentration is 5 mg/mL. Warming may be required. Other published solvents include Dimethylformamide and methanol. No rate is provided. Ethanol may also be an option, the end user would have to determine experimentally. Chloroform is not listed as a solvent in any published resources. Please see the link below to access a sample or lot specific Certificate of Anaysis to review solubility testing:
