Biochem/physiol Actions

Cariporide is a selective inhibitor of the Na+/H+ exchanger subtype 1 (NHE-1), also known as the Na+/H+ antiporter. Cariporide has shown cardioprotective and antiarrhythmic effects, and has recently been investigated for anticancer activity.
Cariporide is a selective inhibitor of the Na+/H+ exchanger subtype 1 (NHE-1).
Cariporide, a sodium-hydrogen exchange inhibitor[1] can decrease the liberation of myoglobin at the time of ischemia/reperfusion and reduces the liberation of NE (norepinephrine) during ischemia.[2]
