Biochem/physiol Actions

8-pCPT-2′-O-Me-cAMP-AM (CPT-AM) is a membrane-permeant acetoxymethyl (AM) ester precusor form of the EPAC-selective cAMP analog (ESCA) 8-pCPT-2′-O-Me-cAMP (CPT). CPT-AM is >100-times more cell-permeable than CPT (by FRET using CFP-Epac-YFP-expressing A431; No effect by PKA FRET assay) and >100-times more efficient in stimulating cellular Rap1 activation (ECmax = 0.1 μM/CPT-AM vs. 100 μM/CPT; HUVECs).
