Gene Information

rat ... Scf(60427)

General description

Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis. SCF stimulates the proliferation of myeloid, erythroid, and lymphoid progenitors in bone marrow cultures. Recombinant rat SCF is an 18.4 kDa protein containing 165 amino acid residues, which corresponds to the sequence of the secreted soluble form of SCF.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 20 mM Tris, pH 7.5.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Determining the developmental pathway leading to erythrocytes and being able to isolate their progenitors are crucial to understanding and treating disorders of red cell imbalance such as anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and polycythemia vera. Here we show that the human erythrocyte...

Porcine embryonic stem cells (pESCs) have become an advantageous experimental tool for developing therapeutic applications and producing transgenic animals. However, despite numerous reports of putative pESC lines, deriving validated pESC lines from embryos produced in vitro remains difficult. Here, we...
