Application

Dissolve in water to make a 0.1M solution. No pH adjustment is necessary. Guaranteed accuracy: ±0.1 pH units.

Tris has a significant temperature coefficient, so select the mixture to give the desired final pH at the desired temperature.
From 5 °C to 25 °C, the pH decreases an average of 0.03 pH units per °C.
From 25 °C to 37 °C, the pH decreases an average of 0.025 pH units per °C.

If a different concentration is desired, note that there is a concentration effect on the pH of the solution.
The product is cell culture tested. It is also tested for low endotoxin levels and analyzed for the absence of nucleases and proteases.

Other Notes

This product is a pre-mixed combination of Trizma base and Trizma HCl that can be used to prepare a common pH value for Tris buffer.
Certain pH electrodes do not give accurate results with Tris buffers.

Preparation Note

Trizma solutions can be autoclaved.
