Fungal stains remain an important tool in the histology laboratory's diagnostic arsenal for identifying infectious microorganisms.

Questions

  1. Can the Fungi Tissue Trol control slides be used with a PAS procedure to identify fungi?

    1 answer
    1. The Fungi Tissue Trol slides are performance tested using a GMS procedure (HT100A-1kt) and can be used as a control for most common forms of fungi. If there is doubt about a negative PAS result, it is recommended to repeat the procedure using a GMS silver stain procedure.
