Application

Porapak Q packed in a stainless steel GC column maybe used for oxidation reduction experiments for designing of appropriate surface sites for ruthenium-ceria catalysts supported on graphite by controlled preparation method.[1]

General description

An economical metal column should be used for less demanding applications where the inertness of glass is not required. This column is of a general configuration, and can be carefully bent to fit most instruments.
Packed column made up of stainless steel are basically employed when higher carrier gas flow rates are employed as they can sustain elevated pressure. Stainless steel columns are usually washed with dilute hydrochloric acid, then with water followed by methanol, acetone, methylene dichloride and n-hexane in order to remove any corrosion products and traces of lubricating agents.[2]

    1. The columns are identical except for the fittings shipped with them.  Product No. 13037-U is shipped with stainless steel nuts and M-2A ferrules.  Product No. 12437 is shipped with brass nuts and ferrules.
