Do I need Product No. 20411 Silanized Glass Wool for my packed column application?
1 answer-
Most applications, except for nonreactive compounds such as hydrocarbons, PAHs, etc., need to be done using silanized glass wool. If untreated glass wool is used and the compounds are reactive, such as basic compounds, the compound adsorbs to active silanol sites. This can result in peak tailing, loss of sensitivity on the low end and poor linearity. For free acids, use acid-treated glass wool.
