Solid phase microextraction (SPME) technique is generally used for GC/MS analysis. It helps in simplifying and speeding up the sample preparation. It also reduces solvent requirement during extraction.[1]

Application

SPME fiber assembly (CAR/PDMS) was used:

• to extract volatiles from headspace vial of cheese samples.[2]
• to measure dimethyl sulphide concentrations of Ulva lactuca.[3]
• in determination of 2-Heptanone concentrations.[4]
