General description

N,N-Dimethylacetamide is a highly polar solvent[1], which can find applications in a variety of chemical reactions.[2] A mixture of lithium chloride in N,N-dimethylacetamide may be used for the dissolution of cellulose to form a homogeneous solution.[3]

This compound is listed in the SVHC (Substances of very high concern) candidate list of ECHA (European Chemicals Agency)

Application

N,N-Dimethylacetamide may be used as an analytical standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceuticals, biological samples, water and air samples by various chromatography techniques.[4][5][6][7]
