Maximum Resolution for Biomolecules
BIOshell™ HPLC and UHPLC columns deliver maximum speed and efficiency for the separation of biomolecules on both HPLC and UHPLC systems. The novel, superficially porous silica particles (SPP), with pore sizes from 90 Å up to 1000 Å, allow the separation of glycans as well as of very large proteins. In particular, a pore size of 1000 Å shows clear advantages over common 300 Å pores for the separation of very large proteins in biotherapeutic drug development such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) or proteins with molecular weights greater than 100 kDa.
BIOshell™ HPLC and UHPLC columns are based on Fused-Core® particles in different particle sizes, core and shell dimensions and pore sizes to meet your individual needs:

Superior Efficiency
in UHPLC
2.0 µm SPP particle with 160 Å pores. Ideal for the ultra-fast separation of peptides in UHPLC.
UHPLC Performance with
HPLC Back Pressures
2.7 µm SPP particle with 90 Å, 160 Å and 1000 Å pores. Ideal for the separation of glycans, peptides and large proteins.
Minimal Mass Transfer
Effects for Enhanced Performance
3.4 µm SPP particle with 400 Å pores. Ideal for separation of proteins. 0.2 µm porous shell minimizes band broadening due to mass transfer effects.
Enhanced Performance
in HPLC
5 µm SPP particle with 160 Å pores. Ideal for the separation of peptides on standard HPLC instruments
BIOshell™ U/HPLC and HPLC Column Selection
A wide range of BIOshell™ HPLC and U/HPLC columns, with its range of particle sizes, pores and column chemistries, allows the perfect selection of a column to maximize the chromatographic performance of your next biomacromolecule separation.
