Description

Application

Sodium nitrate has been used as a test compound for estimating the NO production by assessing the concentration of nitrate and nitrite in the media. It has also been used for measuring the nitrite content in saliva.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sodium nitrate reduces the chloride and sodium reabsorption in the distal nephron.
