Features and Benefits

• Reduce set-up time, eliminate contamination concerns, and avoid long reactivation steps with JumpStart Readymixes
• JumpStart Taq antibody allows for room temperature set up of reactions making it ideal for high throughput applications
• Prevents amplification of non-specific products and primer dimers, increasing target yields

Other Notes

JumpStart Taq ReadyMix is a prepared solution combining the performance benefits of hot start PCR with the convenience of a ReadyMix. The mix includes JumpStart Taq DNA polymerase, 99% pure deoxynucleotides and buffer in a 2× optimized reaction concentrate. JumpStart Taq Polymerase is an antibody-inactivated hot-start enzyme designed to minimize non-specific amplification while increasing target yield. Unlike other hot-start methods (i.e. chemical inactivation), JumpStart Taq polymerase does not require a pre-incubation step prior to cycling because polymerase activity is fully restored during the first denaturation cycle of the PCR reaction. The hot start mechanism allows for room temperature set up, making it ideal for high throughput applications. To prepare a 50 μL reaction, simply add 25 μL of ReadyMix to template, primers and water for a final reaction volume of 50 μL.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which document(s) contains shelf-life or expiration date information for a given product?
If available for a given product, the recommended re-test date or the expiration date can be found on the Certificate of Analysis.
How do I get lot-specific information or a Certificate of Analysis?
The lot specific COA document can be found by entering the lot number above under the "Documents" section.
How do I find price and availability?
There are several ways to find pricing and availability for our products.Once you log onto our website, you will find the price and availability displayed on the product detail page. You can contact any of our Customer Sales and Service offices to receive a quote. USA customers: 1-800-325-3010 orview local office numbers.
What is the Department of Transportation shipping information for this product?
Transportation information can be found in Section 14 of the product's (M)SDS.To access the shipping information for this material, use the link on the product detail page for the product.
What is the fidelity of Taq DNA Polymerase?
The error rates for polymerases are more accurately presented in terms of ranges since the actual fidelity is condition dependent. The error rate of standard Taq, as reported in the literature, is in a range of 1 in 1.1 × 104 (Tindall, K.R., and Kunkel, T.A., Biochemistry, 27, 6008-6013 (1988)) to 1 in 2.0 × 105 (Lundberg, K.S., Shoemaker, D.D., Adams, M.W., Short, J.M., Sorge, J.A.and Mathur, E.J., Gene, 108(1), 1-6 (1991)). These values would apply to this product.
Can Product P2893, JumpStart Taq ReadyMix, be used in real-time PCR?
Yes.The mixture does not contain any internal reference dye, though.D7440 comes with a vial of our internal reference dye, R4526, which can also be purchased separately.
Can PCR products made withProduct P2893, JumpStart Taq ReadyMix,be used for TA cloning?
Yes, this enzyme does not have 3'-5' exonuclease activity, so there will be 3'A overhangs available for this type of cloning approach.
CanProduct P2893, JumpStart Taq ReadyMix,be used with Bio-Rad real-time PCR machines?
Yes.Bio-Rad's real-time instruments typically require fluorescein as an internal reference dye. We have fluorescein as product F6377 (Fluorescein, sodium salt).
