Description

General description

1,6-Hexanedithiol (HDT) is a long chained bi-functional alkanethiol with 6 carbon atoms structured in a zig-zag pattern, which forms a tetrahedral configuration. It forms a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) on a variety of substrates and immobilizes the surface atoms.

Application

HDT forms a SAM on Au, Pt, and Ag substrates, which can be used as coated electrode materials for electrochemical and biological detections. These electrodes form a sensing platform that can be used in biomedical and biosensing applications.
