Description

General description

ChromoCult® Listeria Agar Enrichment-Supplement is a homogeneous, sterile suspension of L-α-phosphatidylinositol in distilled water. Differentiation of Listeria monocytogenes from non-pathogenic Listeria sp. is achieved through the production of a phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C (PI-PLC). Listeria monocytogenes hydrolyses the specific purified substrate added to the medium producing an opaque halo around the colonies.

Application

ChromoCult® Listeria Agar Enrichment-Supplement is used as an additive for the preparation of ChromoCult® Listeria Selective Agar for detection and enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes and of Listeria sp. in a variety of food products.
