Description

General description

This product is provided as delivered and specified by the issuing Pharmacopoeia. All information provided in support of this product, including SDS and any product information leaflets have been developed and issued under the Authority of the Issuing Pharmacopoeia. For further information and support please go to the website of the issuing Pharmacopoeia. Cholecalciferol is a fat soluble vitamin, found commercially in vitamin supplements and rodenticides. It can be directly produced on exposure to sunlight or through normal dietary intake.

Application

Cholecalciferol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in capsules using non-aqueous reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography technique.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Vitamin D acts through a receptor that is a member of the ligand-dependent transcription factor superfamily. Modulates the proliferation and differentiation of both normal and cancer cells. Has antiproliferative and antimetastatic effects on breast, colon, and prostate cancer cells. Activated vitamin D receptors in intestine and bone maintain calcium absorbance and homeostasis.

Packaging
