Description

General description

This proficiency testing sample is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. All information regarding the use of this material can be found in the reporting packet supplied for each sample.

Preparation Note

Randomly contains a minimum 80% of the analytes listed.

This PT sample is packaged as a 1.2 mL concentrate.
The solvent for this sample is acetone.
The PT sample is not preserved.
MMW-001 is intended to modify the products to simulate a waste water sample. The final dilution will replace the use of DI (Reagent Grade) water for the prepartion of the appropriate CRM/QC sample. The sample will add turbidity and TSS to the final volume. These do not affect the properties of the analytes of interest in the final sample if prepared according to instructions. Note filtration may be necessary as required by your method.

To use the matrix modifier simply mix Waste Water Matrix Modifier as specified in the MMW-001 instructions. Use this solution in place of the reagent grade water in the instructions above.

Sample preparation
To prepare solution, add 1L of reagent water to a 2L separatory funnel.
Open ampule PE1274-1.2ML (be careful to avoid cuts on glass) and transfer exactly 1.0 mL of the concentrate to the searatory funnel.
Mix well.
The sample is now ready for analysis.
For calculations, assume initial sample volume was 1000 mL.

The packsize on this sample has recently changed from 2ML to 1.2ML. This change does not affect the performance of the proficiency test.

Other Notes

Proficiency testing samples are presented as single blind. No values for the samples are released unti the testing period concludes. Values of analytes vary lot to lot.
