This proficiency testing sample is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. All information regarding the use of this material can be found in the reporting packet supplied for each sample.

Proficiency testing samples ae presented as single blind. No values for the samples are released until the testing period concludes. Values of analytes vary lot to lot.

Preparation Note

The PT sample size provided is 100 g of soil.  Recommended minimum sample size is 10 grams. The soil has been chemically stabilized to minimize degradation of the sample. The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace. The sample is suitable for gravimetric, GC, and IR methods. The carbon chain of interest is C12 to C28. If you analyze for a different range as dictated by your analysis method you must indicate that range on The Report Form.

Sample Preparation
Mix prior to use. The sample is a soil containing Diesel Range Organics (DRO) to be extracted and analyzed using the methods for which you are seeking accreditation.
On the report form, list the extraction technique and determinative method for analysis of this sample. Report on a dry weight basis.
