Biochem/physiol Actions

Neomycin Trisulfate is produced by Streptomyces containing a minimum of 85% neomycin B. It has been used as a selection agent for prokaryotic cells transformed using the neo selectable marker gene, and to study cytototoxic side effects of antibiotics, platelet-derived growth factor responses in certain fibroblasts, and extraction of Nuclear Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-Bisphosphate-Interacting Proteins. This product is recommended for use in cell culture applications at 5 mL/L.


This solution is formulated to contain 10 mg/mL neomycin in 0.9% sodium chloride. It is stable at 37 °C for 5 days and should be otherwise stored at 2-8°C.
