Description

General description

IgGs are glycoprotein antibodies that modulate several immune responses. Rabbit IgGs against target proteins are often used as primary antibodies in various research applications. Thus, secondary anti-rabbit IgGs conjugated to a detectable substrate are useful tools for the analysis of target proteins.

The product recognizes an epitope located on the γ (heavy)-chain of rabbit IgG. In immunoblotting, the antibody recognizes both native and denatured forms of rabbit IgG. In ELISA, the antibody is specific for rabbit IgG, and shows no cross-reactivity with rabbit IgA and IgM or human IgG, IgA, and IgM. No cross reaction is observed with IgG from the following species: bovine, cat, chicken, dog, goat, guinea pig, horse, pig, rat, or sheep.

Application

Mannose binding lectin (MBL) binding to IgMs in mouse serum was detected by ELISA assays using monoclonal alkaline phosphatase conjugated mouse anti-rabbit IgG gamma chain specific as a secondary. The antibody was diluted 1:2000.

Mouse monoclonal anti-rabbit IgG (gamma-chain specific)-alkaline phosphatase antibody can be used for ELISA and immunohistochemistry applications. Furthermore, the product can be used for western blot applications at dilutions ranging from 1:200,000-1:400,000 using HeLa cell extracts.

Physical form

Solution in 0.05 M Tris buffer, pH 8.0, containing 1 mM MgCl2, 1% bovine serum albumin, 50% glycerol and 15 mM sodium azide.
