Biochem/physiol Actions

Activins are classified as members of the TGF-β superfamily due to amino acid homology with respect to the conservation of 7 of the 9 cysteine residues common to all TGF-β forms; regulate hormonogenesis, cellular homeostasis and differentiation programs.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered solution in 10 mM sodium citrate, pH 3.0.

Analysis Note

The biological activity is determined by its ability to inhibit the proliferation of mouse MPC-11 cells.
