Human serum albumin

General description

Albumin is a transport protein that binds a broad range of ligands such as fatty acids, bilirubin, hemin, drugs, amino acids and ions . Albumin may also function as a zinc carrier protein and consequently regulate physiological processes . Monoclonal Anti-Albumin antibody is specific for denatured and reduced human albumin derived from serum or plasma. The product also reacts with rhesus, gibbon and baboon serum albumins and weakly associates with horse serum albumin. However, the antibody does not bind to bovine, cat, chicken, dog, donkey, goat, guinea pig, hamster, marmoset, pig, pigeon, rabbit, rat, sheep, and turkey serum albumin, nor does it detect chicken and turkey egg albumin.

Serum albumin is the major protein component of blood and is produced in the liver. It regulates colloid osmotic blood pressure, transportation of a variety of substances, blood pH and provides an endogenous source of amino acids. Monoclonal anti-albumin antibody (diluted 1:100) can be used in double staining to localize hepatocytes differentiated from human umbilical mesenchymal stem cells (HUMSCs) . Offering specificity for human serum albumin, this product is ideal for identification of human blood stains or other body fluids (e.g., seminal fluid, milk, urine, saliva, vaginal secretions). Mouse monoclonal anti-albumin antibody reacts specifically with denatured and reduced human serum albumin and cross reacts with rhesus, gibbon and baboon serum albumins. The product has shown no cross reactivity with bovine, cat, chicken, dog, donkey, goat, guinea pig, hamster, marmoset, pig, pigeon, rabbit, rat, sheep, or turkey serum albumin or with chicken and turkey egg albumin.

The antibody is specific for human albumin in serum and plasma and recognizes an epitope resistant to reduction or denaturation.

Monkey retinal proteins were analyzed by western blot using mouse monoclonal anti-albumin IgG (A6684) at a dilution of 1:20000 overnight at 4 °C.

Monoclonal Anti-Albumin antibody is suitable for use in immunofluorescence. The product can also be used for indirect ELISA (1:10,000) and western blot (1:2,500).

Monoclonal anti-human serum albumin antibody (diluted 1: 500) can be used as primary antibody in immunofluorescence staining. It can also be used for identification of human serum albumin in several immunochemical assays like ELISA, immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting.
