Description

General description

The casein kinase I (CKI) family consists of widely distributed monomeric Ser/Thr protein kinases that have a preference for acidic substrates.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 12-65 of human CSNK1G2.

Application

Anti-CSNK1G2 (12-25) antibody suitable for western blot at dilution of 1:500-1:2,000.
Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology IF-tested antibodies. Each antibody is tested by immunofluorescence against HUVEC cells using the Yale HTCB IF protocol. To learn more about us and Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology partnership, visit sigma.com/htcb-if.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Casein kinases are operationally defined by their preferential utilization of acidic proteins such as caseins as substrates. It can phosphorylate a large number of proteins. Mammalian CK1 regulate Wnt1 signaling by stimulating beta-catenine degradation , and regulate apoptosis by phosphorylation of Bid.
