Description

General description

CDC73 is a component of the PAF1 complex (PAF1C) which has multiple functions during transcription by RNA polymerase II and is implicated in regulation of development and maintenance of embryonic stem cell pluripotency.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 186-200 of human CDC73.

Application

Anti-CDC73 (186-200) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blot at a dilution of 1:500-1:2,000
Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology IF-tested antibodies. Each antibody is tested by immunofluorescence against HUVEC cells using the Yale HTCB IF protocol. To learn more about the Sigma Life Science and Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology partnership, visit sigma.com/htcb-if.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CDC73 gene is involved in encoding tumor suppressor in transcriptional and post-transcriptional control pathways. It is a PAF protein complex and links with RNA polymerase II subunit POLR2A and with a histone methyltransferase complex. CDC73 may facilitate the association of 3′ mRNA processing factors with actively-transcribed chromatin. Mutations in CDC73 are associated with hyperparathyroidism-jaw tumor syndrome, familial isolated hyperparathyroidism, and parathyroid carcinoma.
