General description

CIDE-B is consists of a twisted five-stranded β-sheet and two α helices arranged in an α⁄β roll fold. It is expressed mainly in liver and at lower levels in spleen, kidney, peripheral blood lymphocytes and bone marrow.

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 204-219 of the C-terminal of mouse CIDE-B.

Anti-CIDE-B, C-Terminal antibody is suitable for western blot at a dilution of 1 μg/mL by using mouse heart tissue lysate.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Apoptosis is related to many diseases and induced by a family of death receptors and their ligands. CIDE-B induces DNA fragmentation and activates apoptosis in mammalian cells. The apoptotic activity of CIDE-B is inhibited by DFF40/CAD (DNA Fragmentation Factor 40/caspase-activated DNase).
