General description

DRAKs contain an N-terminal kinase domain and a C-terminal regulation domain. They have high sequence homology to DAP and ZIP kinases. They are localized to the nucleus.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, containing 0.02% sodium azide.


Anti-DRAK2 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for immunoblotting at a working concentration of 0.5-1 μg/mL (1:1000 – 1:500 dilution) using human Jurkat and Raji cell lysates.

Biochem/physiol Actions

DAP kinase-related apoptosis-inducing protein kinase 2 (DRAK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that induces apoptosis. DRAK1 and DRAK2 show 59.7% identity and display ubiquitous expression. Both DRAK1 and DRAK2 are autophosphorylated and phosphorylate myosin light chain as an exogenous substrate.
