Description

General description

This gene encodes a member of a family of nuclear-localized protein kinases. It is expressed at low levels in most normal tissues but at elevated levels in many tumor cell lines and in normal skeletal muscle.

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 96-110 of human DYRK1B.

Application

Anti-DYRK1B antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blot analysis at a working dilution of 1:500-1:2000. Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology IF-tested antibodies. Each antibody is tested by immunofluorescence against HUVEC cells using the Yale HTCB IF protocol. Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Biochem/physiol Actions

DYRK1B encodes a protein that is a dual-specificity kinase with both serine/ threonine and tyrosine kinase activities. It enhances the transcriptional activity of TCF1/HNF1A and FOXO1. It inhibits epithelial cell migration through opposing the action of the Met signaling cascade adaptor protein RanBPM (Ran-binding protein M). It is a mitogen-activated protein kinase substrate that mediates colon carcinoma cell survival in mitogen-poor environments.
