Biochem/physiol Actions

EPH receptor A2 is a protein-tyrosine kinase family that belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily. It binds the ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands and regulates developmental events, particularly those of the nervous system. EphA2 has been implicated in tumorigenicity of stem-like tumor-propagating cells in human glioblastomas, angiogenesis in Ewing sarcoma cells and cancer metastasis.
