Biochem/physiol Actions

Ubiquitin-like modifier activating enzyme 1 (UBA1) is an enzyme encoded by UBA1 gene in humans. It is a apical enzyme critical for ubiquitylation-dependent signaling of both DSBs and replication stress in human cells. UBA1 has implications for maintenance of genomic integrity, disease pathogenesis and cancer treatment. Mutation in this gene risks pregnancy.
