General description

GST 96-Well Detection Module permits rapid, sensitive determination of glutathione S-transferase (GST) fusion proteins in a variety of samples.

Application

GST 96-Well Detection Module permits rapid, sensitive determination of glutathione S-transferase (GST) fusion Proteins in a variety of samples. Clarified lysates or intermediate purification fractions can be applied directly into the wells of GST 96-Well Detection Plates. GST fusion Proteins are captured by specific binding to Anti-GST Antibody that is immobilized on the walls of each well. Captured GST fusion Proteins are detected with HRP/ Anti-GST Conjugate provided in the module. Standard curves for quantification of fusion Proteins can be constructed using recombinant GST, which is included as a control. The GST 96-Well Detection Module can also be used with antibody specific for a GST fusion partner to screen as many as 96 samples per plate to identify clones expressing the desired GST fusion Protein.

Antibody capture of GST fusion Proteins enables the GST 96-Well Detection Module to yield highly specific detection. The pre-blocked plates prevent non-specific binding, yield very Low background and permit extremely high sensitivity as compared with other commercially available products. Each GST 96-Well Detection Plate is an array of 12 strips with 8 wells each that permits detection to be performed on as few as eight samples (one strip) at a time. Each dry plate is supplied in a resealable pouch. If fewer than 96 wells are used, the remaining strips may be safely stored in the pouch until needed.

GST 96-Well Detection Module is part of the GST Gene Fusion System, which provides an integrated approach for the expression, purification and detection of GST fusion Proteins produced in E. coli. The system consists of three major components: pGEX plasmid vectors, three GST Purification Modules and two GST Detection Modules. pGEX vectors are designed for inducible, high-level intracellular expression of genes or gene fragments as fusions to Schistosoma japonicum GST.
