General description

HEYL (Hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif-like) is a transcriptional repressor belonging to the
family of basic helix-loop-helix-type repressors. It is a protein encoded by the HEYL gene in humans and is mapped to chromosome 1p34.

Immunogen Sequence: GI # 7657154, sequence 231-328

Recombinant hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif-like

Anti-HEYL (ab2) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Biochem/physiol Actions

HEYL (Hairy/enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif-like) protein is a protein encoded by the HEYL gene in humans and is mapped to chromosome 1p34. The protein is a transcriptional repressor and downstream effector of Notch signaling. HEYL acts as a more potent repressor of androgen receptor (AR) activity. It helps in repressing endogenous AR-regulated genes and reduces androgen-dependent prostate cancer cell growth. Nuclear exclusion of HEY proteins may be a critical step in the progression of prostate cancer.
