Description

Application

Hyaluronidase from bovine testes has been used for the digestion of breast tissue, heart tissue and oocytes for isolation of cells.

Packaging

1, 5 g in poly bottle

100, 500 mg in poly bottle

Biochem/physiol Actions

Hyaluronidase degrades hyaluronan and has been found to be inappropriately regulated during cancer progression.

These enzymes randomly cleave β-N-acetylhexosamine-[1→4] glycosidic bonds in hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, and chondroitin sulfates.

Unit Definition

One unit will cause a change in % transmittance at 600 nm of 0.330 per minute at pH 5.35 at 37 °C in a 2.0 mL reaction mixture (45 minute assay).

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the storage temperature relate to shipping conditions?
The storage conditions that a Sigma-Aldrich catalog and label recommend for products are deliberately conservative. For many products, long-term storage at low temperatures will increase the time during which they are expected to remain in specification and therefore are labeled accordingly. Where short-term storage, shipping time frame, or exposure to conditions other than those recommended for long-term storage will not affect product quality, Sigma-Aldrich will ship at ambient temperature. The products sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than their recommended long-term storage are shipped on wet or dry ice. Ambient temperature shipping helps to control shipping costs for our customers. At any time, our customers can request wet- or dry-ice shipment, but the special handling is at customer expense if our product history indicates that the product is stable for regular shipment. See Shipping and Storage for more information.
How isHyaluronidase from bovine testes, Product H3506, solubilized?
It is soluble at 1 mg/ml in 0.02 M phosphate buffer, pH 7 containing 77 mM sodium chloride and 0.01% bovine serum albumin.
How is a solution of Hyaluronidase from bovine testes, Product H3506, stored?
Prepare fresh solutions directly before use since stock solutions are not stable for storage.
Can Hyaluronidase from bovine testes, Product H3506,be used on humans?
No. None of our packaged research products are for human use.
What is the shelf life of Product H3506, Hyaluronidase from bovine testes?
Product H3506, Hyaluronidase from bovine testes, has a Recommended Retest period of two years (period of time between the Quality Control Release and Recommended Retest dates). This date assigns the time frame during which the batch is expected to remain within established specifications if stored under Sigma-Aldrichs defined conditions, which for product H3506 is at -20°C.This information is provided on the Product's lot specific Certificate of Analysis.
Which document(s) contains shelf-life or expiration date information for a given product?
If available for a given product, the recommended re-test date or the expiration date can be found on the Certificate of Analysis.
How do I get lot-specific information or a Certificate of Analysis?
The lot specific COA document can be found by entering the lot number above under the "Documents" section.
How do I find price and availability?
There are several ways to find pricing and availability for our products. Once you log onto our website, you will find the price and availability displayed on the product detail page.
