Description

General description

TTC28 (Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 28) is also known as TPRBK (TPR containing big gene cloned at Keio) and is localized to human chromosome 22. This 702kb gene encodes a 2481 amino acid residue protein containing 25 units of the TPR motif involved in several biological functions.

Specificity

Note: in the 48:36 release of the Ensembl database this antibody′s immunogen has less tha 80% homology with the 48:36 release Ensembl GENE ID ENSG00000168439.

Immunogen

Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 28 recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST). The PrEST immunogen for HPA003099 has human similarity to ENSP00000305958 (STIP1_HUMAN) of 34%.

Biochem/physiol Actions

TTC28 (Tetratricopeptide repeat protein 28) protein changes its intracellular localization during the cell cycle. It translocates from spindle poles to mitotic spindles and then to spindle midzone during mitosis and remains on the midbody during a period of cytokinesis. It locates on the centrosomes during interphase. It may be involved in the condensation of spindle midzone microtubules and is essential for the formation of midbody during the cell cycle.
