Description

Immunogen

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 549-569 of the C-terminal region of human interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RacP). This sequence differs from that of mouse by three amino acids.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAcP) stabilizes IL-1/IL-1R complex and is essential for signaling mediated by this complex.1 It regulates the immune responses mediated by the IL-1 family cytokines. The isoforms of IL-1RAcP also suppress the synapse formation in cortical neurons, linking the immune system and the synapse formation in the brain.
