Purified rat IgG

The antibody reacts with an epitope on the rat κ light chain, which is shared by both the 1a and 1b allotypes in various rat immunoglobulin classes and subclasses. No cross-reactivity is observed with rat λ light chains or with IgG from human, mouse, bovine, rabbit, goat, sheep, horse, dog, chicken, pig or cat. The product shows weak cross-reaction with guinea pig IgG.

Monoclonal Anti-Rat κ Light Chains (1a + 1b) antibody is suitable for use in capture ELISA. The product can also be used for dot blot and immunocytochemistry.

General description

Rat immunoglobulins are often used as primary antibodies against target proteins in several immunoassays. Thus, secondary anti-rat antibodies are useful tools for the detection and localization of target proteins. Moreover, the use of monoclonal secondary antibodies improves the accuracy of test results as they do not cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species. Monoclonal Anti-Rat κ Light Chains (1a + 1b) antibody is specific for an epitope on the κ light chain (1a and 1b) allotypes of all rat immunoglobulins. The antibody recognizes κ light chains in normal serum and myeloma proteins, but does not detect rat λ chains. The product reacts with the denatured-reduced molecule. The antibody weakly associates with guinea pig immunoglobulins but does not bind to human, bovine, cat, chicken, dog, goat, horse, mouse, pig, rabbit and sheep IgGs.
