Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate

Synonym: 2-([3α,7α-Dihydroxy-24-oxo-5β-cholan-24-yl]amino)ethanesulfonic acid sodium salt, 3α,7α-Dihydroxy-5β-cholan-24-oic acid N-(2-sulfoethyl)amide sodium salt, Taurochenodeoxycholic acid sodium salt

General description

An ionic detergent used for solubilizing lipids and proteins.

Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate is a bile acid that can be used as an anionic detergent.

1 g in poly bottle

100, 250 mg in poly bottle

Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate has been used in a study to assess whether pancreatic β-cells contribute to BA-dependent regulation of glucose. It has also been used in a study to investigate short-term feedback regulation of sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (Ntcp) by bile salts in vivo.
