synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 279-298 of an internal domain of human ZIP kinase

General description

Zipper-interacting protein kinase (also known as Dlk) is almost 81% homologous to death-associated protein kinase (DAP). Overexpression of this serine-threonine kinase induces apoptosis. Homodimerization of leucine zipper at the C-terminal leads to the activation of ZIP kinase. Activated ZIP kinase interacts with ATF-4, an oxidative stress-inducible transcription factor. ZIP kinase is also reported to interact with Par-4, a protein that modulates WT1 and results in reorganization of actin filaments and morphological changes associated with apoptosis. Anti-ZIP kinase specifically recognizes human ZIP kinase (52 kDa).

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, containing 0.02% sodium azide.

The antibody recognizes ZIP kinase, a serine/threonine kinase which possesses a leucine zipper that mediates interaction with transcription factor ATF-4, hence its name. Due to its homology to DAP kinase, it was also named DAP like kinase, Dlk.

Anti-ZIP kinase may be used in immunoblotting applications at a working dilution of 1:1000 or 0.5 μg/mL using HeLa whole cell lysates. The antibody is also suitable for protein microarray.
