What is the functional group of the Supelcosil SAX1 HPLC column, Product 59138C40?
The SAX1 is packed with trimethylaminopropyl functionalized silica (5μm, 120Å), endcapped with TMCS. The ion exchange capacity is 0.4 to 0.5 meq/g.The SAX1 is used for the analysis of anionic organic compounds, such as glyphosate.Supelco does not recommend the SAX1 column for IC use.
What are the operating conditions for the Supelcosil SAX1 HPLC Column, Product 59138C40?
The SAX1 can be used with any HPLC mobile phase between pH 2-7.5.To control ionic retention, use pH and ionic strength to reduce retention.To control reverse phase retention, use acetonitrile to decrease retention.We do recommend avoiding methanol, and storing in acetonitrile, to prolong column life.
What guard do I use with the 4.0mm i.d. Supelcosil SAX1 column, Product 59138C40?
You can use the Supelguard SAX1Kit (59536-U), which contains one cartridge in a stand-alone holder with tubing & fittings to connect it in front of your Supelcosil SAX1 25cm x 4.0mm analytical column (59138C40). The replacement Supelguard SAX1 cartridges come as a 2-pack (59537-U).
