Sodium hydroxide solution:
Dissolve 1.2 g sodium hydroxide for analysis in 50 ml of water for analysis.
Sample preparation:
Dissolve 1.2 g of sodium hydroxide in 50 ml water for analysis. Use a Plastic - syringe with hollow needle to measure out 0.6 ml of SiCl4. Pure it into the previously prepared NaOH-solution. Determine the weight of the SiCl4 by differential weighing. Heat the mixture in order to dissolve any precipitated silicon acid and transfer to a 100-ml volumetric flask, fill up to volume with water for analysis and mix well.
Determine with the above mentioned test kit.

Boron content in %  =   analysis value in mg/l B x 10
weight of sample in mg
